Loftus Peak is pleased to announce that it has been listed as a finalist in Money Management’s Fund Manager of the Year Awards 2020 for Global Equities.
Money Management highlighted the Loftus Peak Global Disruption Fund’s strong performance in the current environment here, citing a return of +32.5% over the one year period to 31 May 2020 which places the fund in the top five Australian fund managers within the ‘global equities core strategies universe’. There are 333 funds in the category.
Loftus Peak’s focus on investment in companies using or providing the best tools and solutions for businesses and consumers resulted in a bias towards those with strong digital strategies, which in turn were many of the top performers in the current environment.
CEO Rick Steele said “The team at Loftus Peak apply rigorous discipline to both the investment process and valuation of globally listed disruptive companies. This process has been instrumental in helping us deliver strong investment returns to our investors and we are pleased to see this being recognised by Money Management. We would like to take this time to thank all investors that have supported us and our investment approach.”
CIO Alex Pollak noted that many trends which have been playing out over recent years have accelerated in recent months. “We believe these trends will help underwrite risk-adjusted return as disruption continues to roll through industries for some years to come.”

More about Money Management awards:
The Money Management Fund Manager of the Year Awards is a well-known and not to be missed event, attracting over 400 attendees on the night. For the past 32 years, we have seen Fund Manager of the Year Awards improve year after year, with more categories being introduced reflecting the efforts and evolution of Asset Management in Australia. One element which has not changed is that the awards are the hallmark for excellence in our industry. In 2020, we would like to continue breaking new ground, and rather than limit participation to subscribers of any single research house, our plan is to bring together the best and most influential voices in our industry to act as a judging panel. Our intention is that all funds on sale in Australia should be eligible to win.
